Grand Cayman voted as having the best beaches in the Caribbean!

The fact that once again the Cayman Islands has been voted to have the best beaches is nothing surprising to anyone who has been here before. Grand Cayman is famous for it’s 7 Mile Beach, but there are countless other beaches around the island; many of them less crowded, and some completely empty. Come check out the far side of the island and try find your own private beach for the day.

In case you needed more convincing to come visit…..

Hey Guys, just thought I would share this great little video I came across. It really shows some of the beauty of Cayman and what we have to offer. As great as this video is though, it only scratches the surface on what there is to see and do here. Enjoy the video and start thinking about booking your next vacation to Grand Cayman.

More than just snorkeling for Cayman swimmers.

We would like to congratulate the young Frasers brothers from the Cayman Islands for their recent success at the Pan Am games in Mexico on Tuesday. Brett Fraser won the islands’ first ever gold medal at a Pan American Games in the men’s 200m freestyle with his brother Shaune finishing just behind him for the silver. Not only did the Caymanian brothers finish One-Two on the podium, but Brett set a new games record of one minute and 47.18 seconds, destroying the previous record by 1.31 seconds. Well done guys!

Two more satisfied customers

Apollo does it again. His Kayaking for Coconuts tour is always a hit with the guests. No only do you get a guided trip down the coast with East End’s best tour guide, but you finish off the trip with nature’s best thirst quencher, coconut water. What more can you ask for?!

The sea is like a sheet of glass today making it perfect for any number of water sport activities. I’ll let the photo speak for itself.

Rinse off in the Rain Forest!

Well, maybe not a real rain forest but a rain forest shower. Thanks to a little innovation from Al, we now have one of the nicest, and most refreshing outdoor showers on island! As if we needed an excuse to get dirty and rinse off.

Now is a great time to visit.

September and October are, by far, the two slowest months for tourism here in Grand Cayman. Kids are back at school and people are winding down after summer, so there are not a lot of people coming to the island. What that means to the savvy traveller is that there are empty beaches and great deals to be found. Many airlines, hotels, and tour operators lower their prices or have sales this time of year to try and increase business. If you shop around, you can come to the Cayman Islands for a fraction of what you would pay during a busier time of year. So what are you waiting for? The weather is great and I have a couple lounge chairs underneath a palm tree with your name on it!

What a great year for Sea Turtles!

Our latest nest of turtles have just hatched and made their way safely to the ocean. This is the last nest that we know about on our beach but if we learned anything this year, it is that mother turtles can be pretty good at hiding their nests. We would like to say thanks to all the people who walked the beaches this year, looking for and reporting any signs of turtle tracks. We are getting more and more nests each year, and that is due in part to all the people who volunteer their time and care about these wonderful creatures.
